While studying Computer Information Systems at the illustrious Howard University, Zuri spent about two years teaching herself Ruby on Rails using it at Hackathons to expand her knowledge and experience. After her 5th hackathon, Zuri was presented with her first introduction in the tech industry with an opportunity at Human Geo.  Outside of building amazing applications, she volunteers heavily with Women Who Code as a Ruby on Rails Lead and Black Girls Code as Technical Lead. For fun she loves playing video games, billiards and watching American Football.
