Saleema Vellani is the Founder and COO of Innovazing, which provides leadership development training and business strategy consulting to companies of all sizes. Aside from launching 5 fast-growing ventures across 4 countries, she has also worked as an “intrapreneur” for over 12 years with nonprofits and multilateral organizations, such as The World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, as well as with high-growth companies, such as Upwork. Earlier in her career, Saleema launched a nonprofit language school in Brazil, now known as Caminhos Language Centre, which is now the #1 Portuguese school in Rio de Janeiro and its innovative business model has been replicated throughout Latin America. She later co-founded a translation agency and an e-commerce business which were acquired in 2012 and co-founded a digital marketing agency with partners such as Google and HubSpot. Saleema is an active mentor and speaker in the local startup community and is passionate about empowering the developing world through technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She currently teaches Entrepreneurship at Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, where she received her Master’s degree in International Economics and International Relations. Saleema also co-leads the World Bank Group’s largest and most inclusive mentorship program. She has spent most of her professional life between Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Italy and the USA.
