Penny Melquist is a Director of Business Development at Crown Bioscience, a pre-clinical oncology Contract Research Organization. Penny has 20+ years of global experience driving positive bottom-line results through innovative and strategic solutions in the Life Science industry. Prior to her role in Business Development, Penny was a research and development scientist where she secured four patents and released first-to-market products as the lead scientist. Penny is a strategy-driven leader with a strong and consistent track record of success, innovation, and collaboration. Penny has been a member of multiple Women in Science Associations, including the Association of Women in Science, American Association of University Women, Coalition of Women Chemists, 500 Women Scientists, and Founder & President of AWIS-Oregon Affiliate Group. Penny was the co-host of a Women in Science podcast with Global Women, Social Enterprise, where components of her show were utilized in curriculum at an all-girls school in Africa.
