Senior Advisor | Gender and Social Inclusion
Niyati has been working to advance gender equality & social inclusion and address gender-based violence globally for over 20 years. She has developed, managed, and implemented gender-related learning engagements and workshops both domestically and internationally. Niyati also has a background in storytelling and documentary television having worked as producer at Discovery Channel/Networks and also as an independent writer/producer. She currently serves on the board for Asian Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Center providing services to the Asian/Pacific Islander community in DC/MD/VA. Niyati is also a senior yoga and meditation instructor (ERYT 500), and has been teaching for over 15 years, most recently focusing on the impact of mindfulness on managing trauma, stress and anxiety. She is a first-generation South Asian-American and earned her masters in international public policy from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), studied Historical Documentary Film at George Washington University, and was born/raised in Ohio.
