Nava Tegene is a Senior Staffing Leader at Google. She stands at the forefront of the fastest moving technology industry trend: Cloud Services and is responsible for the recruitment, development strategy and integration to help build and foster a diverse talent pipeline. She is a strategic thought leader with over 15 years of experience in talent acquisition and culture change.
Prior to Google, Nava led DraftFCB’s global culture and inclusion strategies as their Diversity & Inclusion Program Manager, in addition to managing their learning and development programs. Her career spans various roles and industries from Financial Services at Barclays Capital to working Internationally with the United Nations. She’s fueled by a passion for becoming a community advocate, a champion for culture dexterity and inclusion.
Personally, she has also shared her “coming out” story with Dan Savage’s "It Gets Better" online video campaign in support of bullying in schools of the LGBTQIA community. She has also lent herself to writing, where her most recent essay has been published in the book entitled Where Did Our Love Go? By Gil Robertson, lending a critical editorial voice on love and the black LGBT image and culture.
