Lori Pressley-Mitchell, BS, RRT has been in technology since 1996, working at that time as a system administrator and a Respiratory Therapist. As she continued to work in her dual role, she decided to obtain a degree in technology. Lori graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2002 with Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems.
Lori has since concentrated her tech career in healthcare and understands the power of technology in organizations. She worked as a consultant for three years before opting to become a part of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a Sr. Application Specialist.
Lori Pressley-Mitchell is the Founder of Black Women in Technology LA. As a new-comer to the Los Angeles tech community, Lori noticed a lack of participation by women of color. Her goal for BWiTLA is to provide a space for African-American women to develop relationships, opportunities to network, professional development and technical know-how. Black Women in Technology LA is recognized as a non-profit organization. BWiTLA is currently seeking 501(c)3 designation as a charitable organization.
