Lewa Owolabi is an experienced and technically adept professional, leading large Cybersecurity initiatives to support annual and long-range security, compliance strategies and governance programs. Lewa has served as the head of cybersecurity & privacy in different multinational organizations such as BigCommerce, Hewlett Packard etc. she is a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to C-Level executives on building scalable, effective and measurable security and compliance programs in cloud environments.
Lewa volunteers and mentors’ young professionals looking to start or grow their career path in the cybersecurity field. She currently manages the educational outreach program for the Information Security Leadership Foundation (ISLF) where she is responsible for outreach program, mentorship and grant writing for the foundation.
An advert learner, Lewa is currently a Doctorate candidate at the Colorado Technical University where she is working on a “Threat Modelling Predictive Algorithm for the Security of Microservices”. She is a strong advocate, sponsor and supporter for young women in tech. Outside of work, you will find her volunteering in local security groups and mentoring young women looking to pursue a career in cybersec. Lewa enjoys reading, a good comedy and you will often catch her with a smile
