Kianjai Huggan is a steminist dedicated to working to create educational equity in STEM. She graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Connecticut in May 2020. Kia created various STEM outreach opportunities such as the Sisters in STEM conference for Black and Latinx women. During her college career, she served on educational councils and co-developed a course to support Black and Latina women in STEM. She loves working with K-12 students and showing them how cool STEM really is. Currently, she is the Curriculum Coordinator at Black Girls Code and continues to develop creative ways for students to engage in STEM fields. Her goal is to diversify STEM fields and empower students to know that they are capable of pursuing and excelling in any field.
