Dr. Jacqueline Thao Nguyen is a distinguished Clinical Pharmacist. She graduated from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy (USC) in May 1998. From working as a pharmacist for over a decade, she has learned that a successful clinical pharmacist needs to have certain essential attributes: attention to detail, genuine care for patients, the ability to understand a patient’s desires, the experience and continuing education to care for a patient’s overall health and an uncompromising commitment to stay abreast with cutting­ edge medical treatments and alternative natural therapies to help patients. Dr. J., as she is popularly known, incorporates all these elements into her daily practice.

Driven by her commitment to excellence and in pursuit of her dream to be a pharmacist from a very young age, Dr. J. obtained her Bachelor’s degree in just three years from the University of California San Diego. She went on to complete her doctorate degree in pharmacy from USC. Thereafter she joined the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Diego as an Inpatient Pharmacist for two years. She also opened up a non­profit pharmacy, the Neighborhood Healthcare Pharmacy, where she served an underprivileged community in Escondido as a pharmacist.

For two years Dr. J. worked as a Pharmacy Manager at Rite Aid. She trained and recruited new pharmacists and was the pharmacist preceptor for many pharmacy interns from various schools. In 2009, USC honored Dr. J. with the award for Best Clinical Pharmacist in San Diego. She was featured in a short video about the unique job that she performs as a Clinical Pharmacist on a University of California of San Diego website.

Dr. J. joined Albertsons/Savon Pharmacy as Pharmacist Manager in 2000 where she specialized as a Clinical Pharmacist and Medication Therapy Management Pharmacist. As a certified level 2 Diabetes Educator, she helps diabetic patients achieve better health by managing and monitoring their health through eating healthy, portion control, and supplements. Dr. J. considers herself a Holistic Pharmacist who strives to listen and care for her patients’ medical needs and other life issues so that they can achieve optimal well­ being. She worked per diem as a clinical pharmacist consultant to La Jolla Spa MD where she helped clientele achieve optimal results for beauty and health through DNA analysis and a combination of science supplements.

In an effort to find all potential remedies for her patients’ ailments , Dr. J. constantly immerses herself in the latest health news/developments to learn about the most advanced medical treatments or alternative natural treatments. She has hosted several Vietnamese TV shows such as the Vietnamese Broadcasting Services (VBS) called “DOI SONG LANH MANH” where she ventures out to find the latest products, treatments, or techniques to help Vietnamese communities throughout the United States, Australia, and Canada. She also had a TV show on HonVieTV. Currently, Dr. J. has a TV show running on the biggest Vietnamese television network at SBTN. Dr. J. has a life filled with passion, Her patients can attest to her dynamic personality and caring nature. She is excited to share her knowledge and expertise at the Family Medical & Wellness Center and La Jolla Spa M.D. where she, along with other distinguished doctors, can help her patients better their health. With the determination to provide the utmost in quality care, Dr. J. wants each of her patients to feel assured that they are under the best possible care and that she will strive to holistically treat each patient. She wants to broaden the vision of pharmacists, so that they will become knowledgeable about supplements or alternative treatments and offer to their patients alternative treatments that are more effective than and do not have the same side­ effects as conventional medical treatments.
