Ashley Gann is a champion for workplace equity and inclusion. As the only female Chief Meteorologist in her city and state, not only is Ashley outspoken about the need for more women in leadership, she is also a huge advocate for girls/women in S.T.E.M. Meteorology, a career that has stereotyped women and severely undercut their value, Ashley has become the voice for value, credibility, and equity.
Ashley is a graduate of both Auburn University and Mississippi State University, holding a bachelor’s of science degree from Auburn in aerospace engineering and a masters in Geosciences (concentrating in meteorology) from Mississippi state.
Birmingham, Alabama is home and in her free time, Ashley and her husband are flipping a house, raising 3 children, with one on the way, and very involved with their local faith community. Fun fact…Ashley and her family currently live in an RV.
As a former pageant participant, beauty queen, mother and wife, Ashley believes that all women bring unique character traits, skill sets, and diverse interests to the professional table. It’s time to slash the stereotype, embrace our uniqueness, and simplify equity so that we can achieve a world that attracts, retains, and promotes more women in S.T.E.M.!
