Carmen is a data scientist working at Kite/Gilead in their Real World Evidence team where she
conducts observational studies using big health data. She is also experienced in using large and
complex electronic health records to conduct pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety research,
specializing in multiple database studies with common data models.

She obtained a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of
Padua and she’s currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Groningen.
She is passionate about engaging in conversation around the gender data gap and the role of women in
modern society.
