Babangida Kure Yohanna is a Venture Capital Researcher, with experience in Business Analysis, Project Management, and Management Consulting focussing on early stage business funding. Over the last decade, he has built a track record in Africa, South-East Asia, and Europe. He holds academic degrees from UK, Nigeria and Malaysia. He is currently a doctorate researcher investigating the impact of venture capital on the performance of venture capital backed companies in the UK: cross-regional and cross-border effect.
Babangida has advised several tech start-ups on venture financing, and has also worked on the acquisition of $751million gas power generating plant in Africa in private equity financing. A recent engagement is a European Union funded five countries partnership project INNOGROW (Innovation Entrepreneurship for Increased Employability, New Business Creation and Economic Growth) that aims to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Europe.
He has also worked as research consultant on a World Bank funded project to establish three Special Economic Zones in Kenya. Babangida is also a part time post-graduate lecturer at Kingston University where he teaches Innovation management and Innovation finance. He is passionate about FinTech.
