Laura Castillo manages Business Development and Partnerships for Wonder Women Tech, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that highlight, celebrate and educate women and the underrepresented in STEAM industries (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
She is a bilingual communicator and entrepreneur with over 14 years of government, political strategy, public relations and business development experience on the local, national and international level, particularly in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. She also specializes in event planning and advising political events and campaigns in the U.S. and around the world.
Laura has been a longtime public servant. Her experience includes serving as an appointee at the White House for President Obama, the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon and Afghanistan, where she focused on business development operations for the country of Afghanistan, and as a Communications Director for a member of U.S. Congress.
In addition, Laura has held several other senior level public affairs positions where her work has been focused on Hispanic and minority communities, such as at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, where she served as the National Deputy Press Secretary and Director of Hispanic Media, and two Presidential campaigns.
Laura holds an M.A. in International Commerce and Policy with an emphasis in Trade Policy from George Mason University and a B.A. in Economics and minor in Political Science from the University of Texas, San Antonio. She also received academic certifications in European Union Policy at Maastricht University in Brussels, Belgium and Spanish Language Studies at Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina.
