As Director, Global Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) for Lenovo, Seth Smiley-Humphries architects, implements, and measures the company’s D&I strategies, programs and practices with the goal of embedding D&I into all aspects of the business. He aligns HR Centers of Excellence, HR Partners, Employee Resource Groups, and Lenovo’s Executive Management Team to disrupt and mitigate bias throughout the employee lifecycle and to create a sense of belonging for all employees. He spearheads change efforts, including increasing accountability by tying executive diversity KPIs to compensation, implementing Inclusion Leadership behavioral expectations, driving participation and visibility of global ERGs, and telling Lenovo’s D&I story to key audiences.

Smiley-Humphries spent more than two decades in HR and Finance in technology, healthcare, and entertainment with previous roles at top brands including Disney, AT&T, BellSouth Mobility, NPR, and Heifer International. He is a founding member of the Triangle Women in STEM; a collaborative effort  across academia, private industry, and non-profit organizations dedicated to making the Triangle area of North Carolina a STEM destination for women.

He graduated with a BBA in Finance from the University of Georgia and a MBA from Chatham University, a historic women’s college in Pittsburgh, PA. Seth and his husband, Octavius, have a son, Julian, and live in Chapel Hill, NC. He and his family have been featured on NPR’s StoryCorp and HGTV’s House Hunters.
