Nicola Franklin is the Sr. Director, Talent Management at California Times, which includes the Los Angeles Times and San Diego Union-Tribune and their community and lifestyle publications in Southern California. Franklin joined California Times in 2017 as a Director in Talent Acquisition, while the group was under prior ownership, and transitioned to the current company with its sale to Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong in 2018. She is now responsible for recruiting, learning & development, performance management and other talent-focused programs and systems across the company. Prior to joining California Times, Franklin worked in central Talent Acquisition at the University of Southern California (USC), and previously in the UK as Head of Recruitment for a boutique staffing firm. Franklin graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Southampton University, UK and also holds a Diploma in Business Administration from Henley Business School, UK and a Masters in Leadership from USC.
