Mary Syiek is the chief of staff to the chief operating officer at Molina Healthcare. With more than 25 years of strategic and operational leadership in health care, she has specialization in managed care and medical device management representing all sectors, including providers, payers, medical technology and government. In the chief of staff role, Mary supports the company’s chief operating officer in standardizing organizational structure and processes across the enterprise. She also serves as executive sponsor or representative on initiatives in Health Care Services Redesign, Value Based Reimbursement, Quality Processes and Stakeholder Experience. Syiek helps to ensure that senior leaders have a shared understanding of the redesign initiatives, responsibilities and required action steps. Previously, Syiek worked with medical device firms where she was responsible for leading reimbursement efforts with all payers, clinical research and compliance. She was also the compliance officer at two medical device firms and was a vice president of Provider Relations/Contracting for United Healthcare (New England), PacifiCare HMO (California) and Maxicare HMO (National). Syiek’s undergraduate degree is in history and economics (magna cum laude). She earned a Masters of Public Administration with an emphasis in policy planning and administration. Both degrees were awarded by the University of South Carolina.
