Dr. Karla Gómez is a Chemical Engineer at the Facultad de Química at UNAM. She completed postgraduate and doctoral studies in the Materials Science and Engineering Program at the Instituto de Materiales, UNAM, specifically in the Biomaterials Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Cristina Piña, a pioneer in Mexico in the development of biomaterials. In 2013 she began her doctoral studies, for the experimental work she did an academic stay at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Since 2018, Dr. Gómez is attached to the al Instituto de Ciencias Aplicadas y Tecnología (Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology) at the UNAM, in the Digital Additive Manufacturing Laboratory where she carries out research in the study of the biocompatible material relationship and its processability through technologies of additive manufacturing for a medical application.
