CDR. Sherée T. Williams

Commander Sherée T. Williams was born in Evanston, Illinois. She enlisted in the Navy on

February 6, 1996, completed recruit training in Great Lakes, Illinois, and followed on to Hospital Corpsman “A”

School. Upon completion of Hospital Corps School, in June of 1996, she reported to The National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) Bethesda, Maryland.  During her tenure at NNMC, she earned Junior Sailor of the Year, was promoted to Petty Officer Third Class, and was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) program.

In August 1997, she transferred to Newport, Rhode Island, as an Officer Candidate, and followed on to Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) unit as a student at Florida A&M University where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematical Sciences in December of 2002, and earned her Commission as an Ensign.

 

During her initial assignment as a plank owner on the USS MUSTIN DDG-89 in San Diego, California she served as STRIKE Officer, Assistant Weapons Officer, and earned her Surface Warfare Officer Designation Pin. In July of 2005, she reported to the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY CV67 (JFK), Mayport, Florida, as the Electrical Division Officer, and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) concentration Human Resources from Touro University International, and decommissioned the JFK.

Commander Williams reported to Great Lakes Maritime Academy (GLMA), Traverse City,

Michigan in October 2007 as the Officer-In-Charge (OIC). While at GLMA she laterally transferred to the Human Resources Community. In her next assignment at Navy Recruiting District Miami she served as the Officer Programs Department Head (OPO) and later assumed the duties as the Recruiting Operations Officer (ROPS).

From July 2012 – October 2014 Commander Williams served as the Technical Training Director (TTD), Assistant Military Training Director (AMTD), and the Command Security Manager at Recruit Training Command, the Navy’s only BOOT CAMP.

Commander Williams returned to recruiting in 2014 to fulfill the role as the Regional Enlisted Programs Officer Department Head, for Navy Recruiting Region West, successfully completed her milestone tour, and was selected to attend the Naval War College in-residence program.  

 

In 2016 she once again pursued graduate studies at The Naval War College.  There she obtained an additional Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies, completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I, and was selected for The Gravely Group graduate research project with focus on Undersea and Information Warfare.

 

Commander Williams served as The National Officer Programs Officer Director, for Navy Recruiting Command in (Millington TN), from July 2017-July 2020, and is currently serving at Command Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN, as the Head of Enlisted Distribution Support. 

 

Personally, Commander Williams serves her local community through her membership and service in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA), Jack and Jill of America, Inc., The Jackson, TN Chamber of Commerce, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra League, Commercial Bank and Trust Board of Directors, and as a pool Adjunct Professor at Jackson State Community College.

 

Commander Williams is the proud parent of Serenity (17), and Felipe Jr. (11).
