Stephanie Baker

Volunteer Coordinator | Wonder Women Tech

Stephanie Baker is local to Long Beach and was looking for ways to positively impact STEAM within her community and beyond. She was excited and thrilled at the opportunity to team up with Wonder Women Tech and Lisa Mae Brunson.

Stephanie is a tenacious recruiting professional with extensive experience staffing for technology positions.
She sees on a daily basis how small the talent pool is in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and feels that it is strongly affecting innovation. She has had a passion for STEM fields since she was a young child when she had aspirations of a career in technology and space exploration. She wants to help create an environment where children will feel comfortable to follow these aspirations.

She wants to see STEAM become a desirable area of focus for more students and feels that an important piece to change is expanding exposure in primary and secondary school, but it alone will not make the difference. The key will be Inclusion and diversity within these areas and will help increase the number of hands raised saying they are interested in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Stephanie feels that diversity within teams, companies, and industries will not only increase the talent pool but will broaden the perspectives of these teams resulting positively in more innovation.

Inclusion starts with inviting someone to the conversation.
