April Wensel is a software generalist who’s spent the past decade writing code and leading teams at various startups and research institutions. She’s especially passionate about harnessing the power of technology to effect positive change in society. To that end, she founded Compassionate Coding, a software consultancy focused on implementing human-centered agile development processes. April also volunteers with programs like Black Girls Code, Hackbright Academy, and Technovation in order to encourage more diversity in the software industry. When not coding, she enjoys writing, running marathons, and advocating for animals.
