This internship will provide an exciting opportunity to meet key players in S.T.E.A.M. fields and contribute to a dynamic blog covering all S.T.E.A.M. industries with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, and pioneering female innovators.

As a tech blog contributor, you will be responsible for researching story leads and writing, fact-checking, copy-editing and reviewing editorial submissions and correspondence. You will have the opportunity to contribute to project ideas and strategies as well as attend and cover neat local and community related events. Our contributors will have the unique opportunity to acquire published articles, gain exposure to many aspects of publishing and show an in-depth knowledge in covering ‘tech innovation’ and business news.

DETAILS
This is an exciting and rare opportunity to meet and partner with influential business leaders rallying around our mission to foster diversity and inclusion in the S.T.E.A.M. field in the greater Los Angeles area and internationally.

Training will be through doing, so be prepared for an exciting, fast paced environment. We would like someone in the Long Beach or LA area who can work from home or come into the office 2-3 days a week for a total of 10-15 hours/week.

This opportunity is unpaid. If you’re looking to build your portfolio, this is the perfect opportunity! Paid opportunities could be offered as the platform expands.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct research on topics pertaining to how the “tech innovation movement” is impacting businesses, government, design, etc. and suggest story and interview topics related to overall mission of Wonder Women Tech.
Research legislation and its impact on “clean tech” business.
Create innovative, solution-oriented stories around diversity and inclusion.
Do research/writing questions for our blog interviews, our newsletter, and other outlets.
Find cool articles and recommend twitter/facebook updates to direct our audience to them.
Attend and blog from exciting local events.
Interview leaders in green business through writing or over the phone, and post those interviews.
Create relationships with other writers, blogs, potential speakers, press, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
Exceptional writing and editing skills, sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy.
Ability to complete projects on deadline with little supervision.
Passion about technology, design and business pertaining to S.T.E.A.M., diversity & inclusion topics and entrepreneurship.
Experience with WordPress and social media platforms: twitter/facebook/linkedin.
Experience with RSS and understanding of SEO, meta tagging is a plus. (But not required)
Ability to work with a team and take direction well.

Our platform offers a variety of speakers, panel discussions, coding classes, hackathons and other dynamic initiatives geared towards empowering women and girls and educating our male counterparts.
The development and marketing intern will be responsible for researching contacts, including local businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals who could partner with Wonder Women Tech. The intern will then be responsible for presenting partnership prospects to WWT’s core team of directors and may participate in the strategic planning of all logistics necessary to confirm partnership. In addition to this project, the intern will have the opportunity to assist with other marketing projects such as researching creative marketing opportunities on an as-needed basis.

The Marketing Intern develops, establishes and maintains marketing strategies that meet our organizational objectives. This position is responsible for effective management of the marketing, advertising and promotional activities of the organization.

HIGHLIGHTS
Work closely with the program directors to learn more about start-up culture, non-profit development and marketing efforts at the local, national and global level. Develop a thorough understanding of the field of marketing at a non-profit organization. Gain valuable marketing skills, including research, analytical, and project management skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing and Communications
Coordinate and manage opportunities for local and global marketing, advertising and promoting WWT activities and staff.
Liaise with media and advertising
Conduct analysis of client research, current market conditions and competitor information.
Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results.
Conduct market research to determine market requirements for a results-driven marketing plan.
Develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing projects.
Analysis of client research, current market conditions and competitor information.

Special Events/Development
Assist with the planning and execution of donor cultivation and stewardship events
Assist with event collateral material including invitations, save the dates, signage, etc
Direct mail campaigns
Prospect research
Social media marketing
E-mail campaigns
Work to research individuals/corporations and others for event and foundation support, 
ticket
sales and in-kind donations in support of Foundation events.

QUALIFICATIONS
Communication, research, analytical natural skills.
An interest and/or experience in the field of marketing

WEB DEVELOPER/PROGRAMMER INTERN

DESCRIPTION
– Interns will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the company leadership and get involved in substantive projects.
– We are looking for interns to assist with Front-End Development and website maintenance.

Must-haves to Apply :
– Creative and organized with a passion for socially conscious media.
– Comfortable working independently to meet group goals.
– You need to own your own computer and be proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop (CSS
knowledge is a plus)
– Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
– An extreme attention to detail
– Experience programming within a web-based environment
– Experience building HTML / XHTML layouts and CSS skills
– Experience using WordPress and/or Drupal preferred

DESCRIPTION
This is a role for a Design Intern to sit within our Creative team as we build the Wonder Women Tech brand. This role provides a great opportunity for the right individual to build on their natural talents.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Corporate ID work
Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches
Working on layouts and artworking pages
